New Newsboy
My father-in-law looked up the new Newsboys song a few weeks ago, after hearing it on the radio. This led to a discovery I wasn’t expecting: Peter Furler is no longer the lead singer for the band. Who is replacing him? None other than Michael Tait, one third of another huge Christian band, dc Talk.
Holy. Crap.
At first I wasn’t sure he could pull off the sound of the Newsboys. But Ashley and I were just looking at some videos on YouTube of him singing live. He doesn’t sound like Furler (in reality, who could?), but he does sound good with them. I’m liking this move.
Aside from all that, the new Newsboys CD, “In The Hands Of God", hits stores on May 5th. It will be the last CD that Furler is lead singer on. Be sure to pick up a copy. Newsboys are good enough that I can say that without hearing more than the one song on the radio.
